Tumbleweed Tolers Meeting
Sept. 17, 2008
Meeting called to order 6:20PM
Thank you note was recieved from Dot Matson's
daughter & was read to the club.
Kay Ruston is a guest tonight, she comes from
Tempe. Welcome, Kay!
Bonnie was emailed by National that 4 people
inquired about our club & want to be contacted.
Standing Rules were handed out to the members.
You'll have one month to go over them & at the next meeting we will vote to
keep them, or discuss any changes that need to be made.
A survey was handed out to the members to be
filled out tonight to get opinions on paint-ins. Length of classes, subject
of classes, teachers, etc.
Budget for next year is being worked on.
Christmas Boutique - $25 booth fee - that fee will
be donated to the church as our chapter charity. Also one item per person per
booth is to be donated to the raffle at the boutique. Proceeds from that
raffle come back to the club. Also, we need volunteers for our club's table
at the boutique to sell raffle tickets, promote decorative painting,
demonstrate decorative painting.
Shara Reiner is coming the end of April 2009.
Other chapters in AZ. have been notified.
Kim Hogue has offered to come teach a seminar at a
discounted price in honor of Dot Matson, whom she enjoyed knowing very much.
The board thought the teachers fee for paint-ins
should be raised. Seri Lee motioned to raise the teachers fee to $30. Nancy
Benjamin seconded. Motion passed.
Treasurer - Balance: $4,055.00
Money was taken out this summer for our
insurance premium and ads for the Boutique.
Nominating Committee : We have people willing to
fill the 4 board positions. We still need some people to fill committees.
Ways & Means - If you donate a painted piece for
Birthday Girl raffle, you'll get a raffle ticket for the President's Piece
raffle at the Christmas Party.
This month, Carla Stark donated a stroke work
box. Thanks Carla.
Christmas Party - Our party will be at My Favorite
Martin's (same place as last year--good choice) Wed. Dec. 17th. There will be
a menu choice survey at our next meeting. We will have an ornament exchange.
President's Piece Raffle. Silent Auction (theme is Any Holiday-Any Piece).
And the installation of new officers. Price will be approximately $20.50.
Linda Grass made a motion that TWT pay for half
the cost of member's tickets out of the general fund. Kathy Bigham seconded.
Discussion: Money we made on Christmas party was to be in the Education Fund,
so we should have about $3000 in the general fund & $1000 in Education fund.
Judy Lopez called for a vote. Motion passed.
Membership - Dues for 2009 are due. If Twt dues
and National dues are paid by November, the Nov. paint-in is free. Make sure
you get both dues paid!
Announcements-
-Patti Johns will teach a Patty Rawlinson pattern
at the October paint-in. She has the directions to hand out tonight to prep.
-Donna & Ann brought in the Nov. ornament project
samples.
-Other members brought in projects done/classes
taken over the summer
-Vicki is teaching a Roses & Lace candle plate a
the Tole Shop Sat. Nov. 8th.
-Bonnie is teaching a snowman plaque at the Tole
Shop & is teaching Shara Reiner boxes at her house.
-Ann is teaching a Christmas Tree pattern at
Carolyn Johnson's home on Monday 9/22 & 9/29, both eveings, 6:30PM
-Carolyn is teaching a Traditions Christmas plate
at her home studio Monday 10/13, 10/20, 10/27 6:30pm
