Minutes Taken by Kathy Bigham for Liz Sharp

Meeting was called to order by President Carla Stark at 6:18pm

Budget- 2010 budget was passed out and discussed. It was questioned about money budgeted for Programs and agreed to leave it on the budget for future programs.  Verna K made a motion to accept the budget and Sherri Lee seconded.

Meetings- It was announced that the Peoria Adult Center will be closing at 8:00 starting in July.  It was agreed on that we should start earlier at least by 5:30.  If we all can get there by 5:15 we would start then.

Fall Craft Show-Bonnie has generously offered again to let us sell in her space at the Fall Craft Show and we discussed painting canvas bags and clipboards for a fundraiser for the chapter.  A show of hands was in favor of this and we would be doing the painting in the summer months during the UFO meetings or at your leisure at home and bring them in.  these need to be completed by Oct.-Nov.

G I Bill- G I Bill was discussed and in favor of keeping the program.  Evelyn Kerns likes to give out money so bring your items to donate to Ways and Means, Birthday, Christmas auction and G I Bill auction to earn extra funny money.  Don’t forget to wear your name badge, attend meeting, bring goodies to munch on, teach or be a student at a paint in, bringing a guest and if that guest joins earns funny money also.  Several comments were made that we enjoyed the auction and appreciate the hard work that has gone into it.

New Member- Kathy Bigham brought guest Patty Sepp who joined and is now a new member.  Welcome Patty.

Web- Web site was discussed and mentioned that at the board meeting it had been mentioned possible purchasing a new updated program.  We are looking for user friendly programs that are reasonably priced so if you know of any or could recommend one please let a member of the board know.  We will be pricing and checking these out so we can make a decision.

Charity- May is Memory Box painting by Judy Lopez, paint in is free to members and boxes will be ordered before then.

Sunshine-  Karen Loebach had emergency surgery and could use our prayers and well wishes for a speedy and healthy recovery.

Paint Ins- Carla Stark is teaching tonight,  Kathy Bigham will teach in April and Ann Perz will be teaching in September.

Seminars-  Susan and Kathy have been checking out possible future seminar teachers and will send out at survey to members to choose who you might be interested in.  Saturday seminars with local teachers have been discussed at the board meetings.  The Seminar Committee will send out info on how to submit photos if you are interested in teaching a Sat. class.  The teacher will receive $100.00 for a 6-8 hour class.  Sherri mentioned if we had it at the Home and Garden Center we would just have to rent tables, no other rent fee.  The cost for the student of the seminar would be around $20-$25 (to be determined)  Possible dates are a Saturday in May, July and or Sept.

New Business-  Cactus Wren is having their Get Away at a hotel in Prescott on Sept. 17 thru Sept. 19.  More info to follow on their website.

Receipts were discussed as we have duplicate records of who has paid for paint ins. It was brought up that we may have to have the receipts for auditing purposes and decided if you want a receipt for a paint you have paid for let Carolyn know.  If not no receipt will be given out but we will still have the documentation of who has paid.

Ann Perz is teaching “Sunset Cottage” on Sat. March 27 at 9:00am.  Please contact her if you are interested in signing up.
